Grade 4 – Little Chefs in the Making!

Learning a new language becomes much more exciting when it involves hands-on activities! Recently, our Grade 4 students embarked on a journey to expand their French vocabulary by learning the names of various fruits, all while engaging in a creative and delicious activity.

In this interactive lesson, students were introduced to fruit vocabulary in French, where they learned names such as “pomme” (apple), “banane” (banana), and “fraise” (strawberry). This fun twist on language learning encouraged students to memorize words more naturally, as each fruit they learned about was soon part of a delicious fruit salad creation.

Using their new vocabulary, students identified each ingredient in French before adding it to their colorful fruit salads. With each slice and scoop, they practiced pronunciation, worked as a team, and reinforced their understanding of French words in an enjoyable and memorable way. The hands-on nature of the activity not only made learning French exciting but also highlighted the importance of teamwork and collaboration.

By the end of the lesson, students enjoyed the reward of their efforts—a vibrant and tasty fruit salad! This activity offered a unique opportunity to blend learning with fun, leaving students with new vocabulary and a positive experience they’re sure to remember. Bravo to our Grade 4 students for their enthusiasm and creativity in exploring French!
